Abstract

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which began on February 22, 2022, has brought about an absolute change in the European and Western security scenario. But the conflict did not come from the blue. A series of action, on the part of both sides, drove us to the current situation, for which an uncertain and potentially threatening horizon is in sight. The United States is configured as the great winner, while the European Union suffers the consequences (economic, energetic, social, etc.) of the strategy imposed by Washington, which could drag the EU into a global confrontation, when it should design a strategy that defending his interests, allow it to recover its desired strategic autonomy.
