The promedio experience: a management model for the reduction of illegal dumping

Illegal dumping constitutes an environmental issue present in most municipalities across Spanish geography. The challenges its proper prevention,control, and management present necessitate active collaboration among a diverse array of actors and institutions. This paper analyzes the experience of the PROMEDIO program, an initiative driven by the Provincial Council of Badajoz (Spain) to improve the management and treatment ofconstruction and demolition waste and its impact on 57 localities in the province of Badajoz.
