This paper analyzes the fiscal measures implemented at the end of the 1950s by the Minister of Finance, Mariano Navarro Rubio, which marked a turning point in the Spanish Economy, particularly in the “Stabilization Plan of 1959”. The aim of this paper is to establish a link between his dogmatic influence and how it was reflected in the transition from the autarkic model of the early Franco regime to a more open and a free-market oriented economic vision.
